Did you ever ask your science teacher that in middle school or high school? They have no good answer! There is absolutely no way to get an ellipse from a single force (attraction gravity) acting from a single focal point (e.g. the sun) This is how deep the errors go. For anyone interested in the Universe and astronomy, this will blow your mind: milesmathis.com/ellip.html

Way too deep for a lazy Saturday, but thanks for posting, should make for some good brain teasing later.

LOL, had a 7th grade science teacher try to tell everybody that we have seasons because of the elliptical orbit of the Earth.

I asked her if I could go up to the backboard and draw some pictures of the earth and a line through it for it's axis and a ball nearby that would be the sun.
She didn't allow that.

She didn't allow that. Science is really their most sensitive subject. At least that was my experience in school as a kid. The science teachers will hate you the worst for showing them to be stupid. There's always personality variants, but I very confrontationally showed them all to be stupid to their faces for years on end (at least my last seven years in the pen) and so I have an unusually large sample size. Science is their soft spot. If we can show their science to be a despicable, corrupt, laughable fraud, and show the truth with our own science, they will lose the upper middle class / lower-upper-class support which is essential to their regime's continuance. We can kill them with science. And, if God will help us: WE WILL.

Oh I did win, when she did the ball through the ring apparatus, I asked what happens if you let the ring cool while the ball is still in it. She tried and couldn't get the ring off the ball and had to buy another one.
