Sounds similar to what some guy proposed in 2008 and 2012. Too bad people are so addicted to these programs, we would all be better off keeping our money in the first place.

Maybe the real libertarian solution would be to raise the retirement age every year. that way we would still have the system in place, and people wouldn't freak out, and the nice government employees would get to keep their jobs. While at the same time we could pat ourselves on the back that we aren't paying things out to as many old people. The money could go to something useful and needed that is currently underfunded like National Defense instead.
