Those parties need to swallow their pride and create a unified national party that stands for the principles they have in common - which is 95% in both cases. If in 2020 they combined their money, connections, ballot access, membership, and voting base, and selected a synergy candidate like Ron, Rand, Amash, Petersen etc. they could maybe have enough momentum to finally break 5% and be considered a national party. Then by 2024 or 2028 if they played their cards right they could maybe break 15% and get into debates. This will never happen, of course, because they are both so damn prideful. On he other hand, maybe we could think up a way for them to do a fusion ballot sort of thing. E.g. If they remain independent parties, but both select the same nominee, and each one campaigns in different states, then they could massively increase their leverage without any real changes, and neither one has to admit they are the same.

WW likes this and so do I. This idea needs to be put out beyond the confines of this little hole in the wall. This is a really good idea. put it out on Twitter and rpf's and see what kind of response you get.

Yes, I try not to as a general rule. Because it's usually because I missed something obvious.
Bumped Rebs thread on rpf's.
