Lately I find myself unable to muster any hope at all my fellow "Muricans will ever rise up and demand to quit being led around like cattle with nose rings. And the ever encroaching nanny state will just forever continue to expand. I have become a "it's piss" guy.

I have to keep trying.
Otherwise I don't get to say, 'I told you so.'
And yes, trump chumps, I did tell you so.

i see from the posts that its more 'important' that you can say i told you so, and declare you were right. Congrats. That and a few bucks will get you a latte' at Starbucks
i don't know how old some of you are in here, but i found as i got older, and been around the block more than once, i never lost my verve for staying involved in politics. The only regret i have so far is that i feel i didn't do enough for Ron Paul. meh..ancient history now. I'm not trying to shine any light up your butts, but the activism, the voting, the donations, the phone calls, the loss of friends..(and these losses go back to the 60's for me) has always been an up and down journey, but i have ALWAYS stayed my course on the wars, and the lack of declaring one if needed. Trump crossed a line, albeit not a big one. Debateable i know for some. I guarantee you Trump will not be getting my vote next time unless a sea change occurs in his tactics towards this end. Yep, you guys were right, now go get that coffee and don't take too long. Stay involved. Don't quit.
btw, i will not apologize to ANYONE for voting Trump. My gut feelings about him may have betrayed me, however, i still remain slightly optomistic.

I won't ever apologize for saying I told you so. It's my way of lighting fires under butts. Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it and I'm sick to death of being doomed because most people find choosing between the media-approved candidates easier, more entertaining, and/or more rewarding in the sense that they didn't "back a loser".
Yeah, we never back losers, we always are losers. No one has our backs, least of all us ourselves.
I don't want a cup of coffee and I don't want to be congratulated. I want people to live when to what I learned from history so I can stop repeating fifty years of the rich getting richer and the poor (despite the march of progress which should be making all lives easier) systematically getting raped and starved.
I say I told you so because I'm fucking sick of the future getting bleaker and bleaker for me and everyone I love, and when the Head Psychos In Charge push this too far, I want everyone to realize there's a better way to fix it than spilling blood.
Fault me for saying I Told You So all you want.

I don't fault you for still having optimism, if the world gets better I will be happily surprised. I was not suckered by Trump, but I have been by candidates before. And I was not happy with myself, kind of defeats the point of activism for me if I vote for the wrong guy. So for myself I am sorry when a candidate I vote for is a fraud. But whether its a president or a lower office it just sucks for us all living under them. Oh well such is politics.

Fault me for saying I Told You So all you want. 100% spot on. I tell my wife I told you so nearly every time I was right about something if she was wrong, but I always point out WHY I say it: I want her to be able to replicate my correct predictions; I want her to think about why she was wrong and how to avoid it in the future, and I keep hoping she will do the same for me. Correct predictions are reproducible if you break down the mechanics of them.
