The Entertainment Industry Foundation and something called XQ has preempted all four broadcast networks so celebrities and children can 'reimagine high school'? Sounds like terrible television, but I'm not sure I can resist rubbernecking at this wreck.
As a libertarian, all I can say is, WTF? What now?

I'm hearing a lot about how U.S. high schools suck, but I'm not hearing nything about how good they were before the federal Department of Education was created, or how since then they've focused more on propaganda than knowledge.
Problem -> reaction -> what kind of 'solution' are they trying to gig us with now to 'fix' the problem they created?

This is very strange, I'm nowhere near a tv so I can't see what it's all about.

Doesn't every 'serious conversation' start out looking like an episode of Glee?

This is what they're advertising the $#!+ out of. But other than grand promises, they haven't said a damned thing about what it is. xqsuperschool.org/abouttheprojectI'm too busy trying to glean some information out of this to stop and read the site. But they've made one thing clear. They figure the school systems of Houston and Florida are desperate enough to let them take over--as long as they bring money. And clearly, they figure to sucker us for some of that cash.

I thought it was going to be some genderless school and XQ was the gender pronoun they all go by. Bring beauty into the world?

This is hopeless. Much about how high schools need help, nothing about what XQ intends to do to them.
I'm not getting anything off that website either. It's like a high school pep rally. Much love for the football team, no clue what plays the offense runs or who the quarterback is. This is what the blurb calls 'rethink(ing) the future of American high schools'?

www.edsurge.com/news/2016-09-20-my-mixed-feelings-on-xq-s-super-schoolsBy Rick Hess Clearly, XQ is not interested in waiting for the jury. The question foremost in my mind is, did they talk all these celebrities into appearing on this special with grand promises of what they can achieve, or did they pay them? And if they paid them, where did the money come from? Since when are public schools that profitable? One thing I'm certain of. Celebrities may be easy to fool into thinking some thing or another is wonderful and will be good for people. But the four broadcast networks are a different matter. Something is in this for somebody, and I'm not convinced it's education.

Self-aware team members who bring their strengths. Talent-seekers who find the expertise of others. Essential co-creators—because of what they bring, and how they show up. Inquisitive world citizens who seek out—and respect—diversity and diverse points of view.

This is their superschool bus. Why do all the kids look like they're in transition to becoming part of The Borg?

IMAGINE STUDENTS IN A SCHOOL THAT EMPOWERS THEM TO TACKLE ENVIRONMENTAL INJUSTICE AND BECOME A GREEN HUB FOR ITS COMMUNITY
Furr High School will activate learning through a project- and place-based model grounded in the rigors of environmental and nutritional sciences. This large public high school will transform its culture with restorative justice, connect the dots between students and community, and combine Socratic seminars, university and business partnerships, and wrap-around services. Students and teachers will pair with their university counterparts to become “green ambassadors” in important environmental-sustainability research projects.

I can't figure out what they're up to, either but it's for the children so we probably shouldn't question it.

This is their superschool bus. Why do all the kids look like they're in transition to becoming part of The Borg? Hell of a good question. I broke down and texted the number to see what they're trying to get out of people. Money? Contact your city hall? Contact your Congressman? I remembered the number, but didn't take note of their keywords. So, I just put something in. I guess they can't deal with something so nonconformist. It seems what they try to get out of you depends on which part of their program makes you go all impulsive. I haven't gotten a text back yet. This is bizarre. I've been around a long time, and the only other thing I ever remember all four networks simulcasting--other than a presidential appearance--was the moon shots. I can't figure out what they're up to, either but it's for the children so we probably shouldn't question it. Seems to be the instinct they're trying to tap.

You're not gonna hear back unless you send some $$$. Not even Elvis Presley's death? I remember my mom calling me home so we could all watch the breaking news while she sat there and sobbed. My mama LOVED Elvis.

Well, all three networks covered it, and maybe all broke in with special reports. But they didn't simulcast anything that day.
